Metra dash kit

Ok for most repair work
Like all the other haynes manuals i have purchased this one did a decent job of giving recommendations for maintenance and repair work. However i always seem to find it lacking details where i need it most (basic repair tasks that seem to be identical between manuals), and having way more details for jobs that i don't care about (totaly engine overhauls, etc. ).Pros:- Affordable Help for repair work- covers most repair topics you might care about- I have purchased several manuals for cars i have owned and found them all to be helpfull.Cons:- Says it covers multiple varients of the same model, but often has diagrams for only one of them.- Many of the more common repair tasks (brakes, oil change, body work, etc.. ) are heavily coppied between the vairous Haynes manuals for different models, so often lack spesific details that would be helpfull. You can usually overcome this with some common sense, but i have found several times...

Technical Manual
This book covers most everything garage mechanics would tackle in their garages. The directions seem well written. I have referenced it a couple of times, and it helped out. The instructions can be a bit short though, and they tend to lack some details. Navigating the book can be really annoying. Some instructions stop mid-way, and direct you to a different part of the book. When looking for something specific, I have ended up flipping through the whole book looking for the directions.With that said, I don't think their is a better book out there. It is a good reference books to troubleshoot issues.

For most cases you will find this book really helpful. Now for more of the high end, rebuilding a tranny. It's not gonna help. I would get it again just for reference if anything. It has torque values in it, alot of helpful tips on figuring something out, if you dont own the $3,000 snap-on scanner. Put it this way, if i lost this book, for the money i wouuld with out a doubt buy it again

Haynes Manual for the Ford Ranger
I ordered this one from Amazon because I felt it was better than the other manual ( from Chilton ) that I previewed ( at the local auto parts store !). Haynes has better step by step instructions and illustrations. There is is a better manual sold by Helm Inc 1-800-782-4356. I was told this is the one that was prepared by Ford and used at the dealerships. For my 1997 Ranger, the cost for Helm Shop Manual, Eletrical Manual, and Emmisions Manual is $306.95 plus tax & shipping. And if your want to save a few bucks, they have all the above on a CD for $175.00 plus tax & shipping. I'll try to get by with my Haynes Manual !

Skyjackers, need i say more!
The only bit of information I wish I would have found before purchasing these springs is any kind of statement regarding the load capacity. I took a gamble on them and so far so good. I purchased these springs to give my truck a little extra lift when I had my plow package installed. So far they are working perfectly, although the plowing season is only a month old. One of the factory springs broke the first year I plowed with them and I hope they do not fall to the same fate.

Speaking of towing, that was a big issue brought up by current Explorer owners, as in, won’t going to a crossover platform compromise the Explorer’s towing capabilities. The 2011 Ford Explorer carries on a name that’s twenty years in the making, but what it represents today in its fifth generation is a far cry from where it began its humble roots. The EcoBoost will be great for people who like the style and size of the Explorer but aren’t planning to tow anything and would like the benefits of better fuel economy afforded by the smaller engine. Engine/Transmission At launch, the Explorer only offers one engine choice. when equipped with the towing package, the new Explorer can still haul up to 5,000 pounds behind it. This is a little off the pace of the previous 4. We had a chance to test the Explorer’s new Terrain Management System a little while ago in the dead of winter in Quebec and we were thoroughly impressed at its capabilities to handle off-road conditions. If you opt for the 4WD Explorer, you’ll find the Terrain Management Control knob just behind the shifter for easy, on-the-fly selection of driving surface. The instrument panel is becoming more familiar to the new Ford family, with a center speedometer gauge flanked by two LCD screens controllable by buttons on the steering wheel.
