Customer Review
Fantastic Purchase
Reviewed inputs from others before making purchase. These speakers are perfect for the F150. Takes all of 10min to make connections and then your audio goes from night to day. Excellent quality. Bass response second to none. Considering adding 2 more to the rear doors. Would recommend to another looking for a speaker that rocks but is easy on the wallet.Cheers.

Great speakers!
Bought these to complement the 6x9" 3-way units I put in the rear deck of my Mazda 626, and the they're just as good as their slightly larger brethren. Tight bass, great highs, and natural mids. I was able to crank my old stereo unit up without any distortion (ignoring the rattling of door panels and windows ;] ), can't wait to see how they perform with the new stereo head unit.As a note though, these do not come with baffles! Why is this a problem? Because going through heavy rain or a car wash sends a cascade of water down through the inside of your doors, and if the speaker compartment isn't separated you run the risk of getting these things soaked which could result in electrical problems. This is easily fixed however by going to the nearest auto parts store or even Walmart and buying some plastic or foam baffles for a few bucks. This is of course assuming these are going into the doors, if not then you've got nothing to worry about.

Pioneer's TS-A6872R 6-by-8-inch three-ways deliver power handling of 240 watts max. (40 watts nominal). Pioneer continues to set an example with next-generation technology for improved sound: the tweeter, magnets, surrounds, the voice coil wire, the basket and more are all high-performance components that make up a great speaker.
 | Pioneer's A-Series Speakers Pioneer A-series speakers outperform factory speakers on nearly every level. Packing a powerful punch, A-Series speakers are equipped with up to three independent tweeters with reinforced woofers, so every beat is heard and felt. Featuring a bigger, better cone than most OEM speakers, the A-series boasts serious output and booming bass. Extra-sensitive tweeters play at higher frequencies and are capable of handling stronger audio signals, resulting in vocals that are crisp and clear, even when you crank the volume. |
TS-A6872R Features Composite IMPP Cone with Interlaced Aramid Fiber With long aramid fibers interlacing together inside, this IMPP cone design provides the strength and rigidity that powerful bass sound requires. High-density compressed internal architecture is resilient, stacks up against high power well and transfers sound quickly. The result is full-bodied, rich sound character with midrange depth that conventional IMPP cones cannot match. Butyl Rubber Surrounds Durable butyl rubber speaker surrounds won't fall apart under the stress of extreme temperatures, sunlight or time, and help Pioneer's woofers deliver serious bass. Power Handling The TS-A6872R handles a full 240 watts max. power (40 watts nominal). Along with enhanced power handling, you still get the same high performance that all the TS-A's deliver. 6" x 8" Perfect Fit Speakers There are a few things in life we'll never understand. Like why do stereo companies keep trying to force people to put 5" x 7" speakers in 6" x 8" holes? It doesn't look or sound right. That's why Pioneer researched exactly what dimension speakers would work best with what cars. If it doesn't fit perfect, it's not gonna sound perfect. |

Don't bother without having a good amp
Pros: Strong, punchy bass with proper amplification (enough to make your doors and rear deck rattle without proper sound proofing). They sound well with rock music. Good price.Cons: Need lot of power. Mediocre when run off a regular head unit or a weak built-in car stereo system. Only 40watt RPMS.Well. All in all, these are pretty good speakers. The only problem with them is that they really do need a good amp to make them sing well. Don't even try to run them off a standard aftermarket head unit or a weak built-in stereo system alone. Given the low price, they're deceptively hard to drive. If you don't have a good amplifier, buy the G-series Pioneers instead, which were meant as a drop in replacement with stock head unit. An aftermarket receiver unit outputs between 15 and 20 watts RMS. These speakers are rated at 40RMS. I tried running these off my JVC G320 head unit (18Watts RPMS) and they never worked well with it. They sounded just about as well as the 10...
