I've been off-roading for more than four decades. Bikes, buggies and now, a 4x4. Never really thought I needed a winch until I got the 4X4, but since my Trooper weighs in at around 4,500 pounds, I knew there was no way I could get out of a "sticky" situation without a winch. I run in sand at Hatteras, hills and woods at Wind Rock and make the occasional trip to CO to explore old mining trails and hunt for ghost towns. And I always travel alone. So, one of my first purchases for the Trooper was an ARB bullbar and a Warn M8000. That was in 2002. Oddly, since then, I haven't had a desperate need for a winch. Oh, there have been numerous times when I have had to clear a large branch or tree from the trail, but I've never been stuck, so I never had a chance to put the M8000 to the test.Then, this Spring, I had a 70', 18" diameter black pine break in a windstorm and fall into the lake near my boat dock where we live. Does what it says
This is the best basic winch you can get. Don't be fooled into buying any of the cheaper ones. Learn from my mistakes. It does what it says it does. Pulls four tons. Has paid for itself in my case with one emergency use. Had to pull and lift 2.5 tons which it did with ease. I would recommend having a snatch block and either a chain or heavy strap to give more options when needed. It is not always possible to get the truck with the winch in exactly the right spot. Works in my 2005 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl
I purchased 10A, 15A and 20A of these MINI BP PRO fuses. The amazon website indicated they would 'not' fit a 2005, Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl but they most certainly do! I took a gamble on the picture being correct and this time won. (RISKY)These are very tiny and have a tapered semi-spade blade as the pictures indicate.Just so you know, on my ruler, they are about 7/16" wide and the blade is about 1/4" long.My ciggy lighter takes the 20A (yellow). I'll toss a mixture of these in the car and fill up the empty 'spare' fuse holders on the passenger, driver side and under the hood fuse boxes. Top to learn more

Works great, installs pretty easily if you've done something like this before. The wiring on the unit plugs right into the back of the factory radio but you will also have to connect it to a power supply. I tapped into the radio subout/remote/acc wire for the positive wire, it's the light green and yellow wire. For the ground I tapped into the radio ground, black and green wire. I also bought the clarion cable that has the 3.5mm aux input that I mounted next to the cigarette lighter plug. That gave it a nice clean factory look. I just plug my male to male cable from the mp3 player to the aux input and I'm good to go. The PAC unit has a gain control between the RCA inputs, you definitely want to turn it way down, read the instructions. I set mine about half way. You want to test it out before you bury it in the dash because it will be a pain to take it out to adjust it later. I chose half way because you can use the volume control on your mp3 player to adjust the level also... Top to learn more
Best Aux Input Device
While looking for the cheapest price for this item on various websites, I came to the conclusion that for 56.99 and free shipping the price couldn't be beat (ordered from amazon) This unit was relatively easy to install in my '05 focus as long as you realize before you buy this product there are two wires w/ stripped ends that must be connected to a 12v power source.... Just making some simple cuts in either the radio or powerplugs wires is enough to wrap the wires around the newely exposed wire and smashing them together w/ some needle nose pliers is good enough (I was too lazy to even tape the connections, though you might want to). I bought this item after seeing on another website that this and the PIE frd04-aux were the same unit... I chose this one however because I didn't read any reviews about it not working after a while as I did about the other one [also it was cheaper :)]... Installed in my 2007 Ford Focus without too much trouble. Another reviewer pointed out that this is basically the same unit as the car audio switcher, but a little cheaper.
