I had multiple mysterious conditions accompanying my "Check Engine" light. The dealer wanted $100 just to read my codes! I thought I could find a reader at least for the same price and found most readers that would read OBD1 codes were over $150.00 until I found this Ford specific OBD1 reader at a fraction of the cost the dealer was going to charge me. My 1st thought was that this could'nt be a quality device for $25.00. I read up on the product, trusted the reviewers here on Amazon and gave it a go. I found 5 codes and was able to do several other self diagnosing tests and am 100% satisfied with this product. Highly recommended! This product will save you time and money
I own an '86 mustang with a 5.0 and it just wouldn't start and run. So being a decent mechanic myself, I began testing everything I knew how too. But everything was checking out just fine. So I started doing some research on reading codes from the computer, and found this product for an incredibly reasonable price. I was able to find one at the local Oreilly's. Picked it up and in a matter of ten minutes of using it, I found my problem, a bad MAP sensor. Very good buy!!!

Ford Diagnostic Code Reader
Great product and worked very well. I got the recommendation from the web site doing a research to find out why my Explorer have the check engine light on. I could have taken the car to be diagnostic to a dealer or at any other shop and pay $100.00 and then pay the repair, which probably wold cost me $200 or more. Instead I got this little device, and it told me that I need to check the Oxy Sensor and some vacuum hoses as well as the PCV valve. I estimate $100 parts and 1 hr to do it...The company who sold me the device was fast and the device arrived promptly based on their estimated delivery.

good but short of great
Haynes manuals are good and very useful, but a lot of important details are omitted. And, a lot of important details are grouped together in statements like; "remove all lines, electrical connectors, and hoses" which is the largest part of the job! Or, "take this part to a professional mechanic for repair", if I wanted to do that I would not have bought your manual!The Haynes manual is good, but far short of great.

Very nice, but!...
They are about triple the size of the factory "objects in mirror blah blah". You can't match-up letters on top of another. If you are picky and can't remove the orignal sticker then don't get this, on the other hand you really can't tell there's another logo underlying unless you look at it up close, which looks like some scribble scrable between the 2, obviously this one standing out more since 3 times bigger and in Bold lettering.. #Reccomended

Convenient little cable
I'm fairly pleased with this little retractable cable. Fortunately, I had read the other reviews, so I was not surprised by the short length and it works for me. Some things you should know:* As other reviewers mention, this is not a 6' cable. The technical details have the correct 2.5' length, but the description is incorrect.* The retractor mechanism is a little cheap and I've gotten it tangled a couple of times. That being said, I've always been able to untangle it and it has recovered.* The rubber around the plug ends is a good size for iPods and most stereo inputs, but it is too wide for the audio jack in an iPhone. I took a sharp knife to one end of the cable and shaved down the sides, then it worked fine even for the recessed iPhone jack. This wasn't too hard to do, though that cable end doesn't look too pretty now.In spite of these reservations, the cable works well, the audio quality seems fine, and it is small, convenient, and nicely...

There's a better choice...
Not horrible but I bought it at the same time as I bought a much better similar product- .The Cables Unlimited one is much sturdier and a little longer. After using the two, it seems that the Scosche (this product) does not expand and retract as fluidly as the cables 2 go one. I feel like I'm going to break the Scosche one every time I use it. Also, the Scosche one is extreeemely short and I found the Cables Unlimited one to be a much more practical size, especially considering they retract to the same size anyway.I'd definetely recommend the CablesUnlimited one. I bought both. Learn from me.
